The National Museum of Cardiff is home to
one of the largest collections of Impressionist
paintings in Europe, featuring works by artists
such as Cezanne, Renoir, and Monet.
The Chapter Arts Centre combines film, music,
literature and art all under one roof. The
gallery regularly holds exhibitions by artists
from all over the world, and hosts the annual
Experimentica festival showcasing work by
some of the leading lights of the UK’s
visual avant-garde.
The G39 art space showcases work by recent
art graduates alongside more established
international artists, with an emphasis on
photography, video, sculpture, and installation.
The Ffotogallery is a gallery and workshop

local and international photographers
TactileBOSCH is an experimental art facility
based in an old Victorian laundry in the
Llandaff North area of Cardiff, consisting
primarily of artist studios and an alternative
exhibition space. The building hosts 10 artists
in residence and provides studio and exhibition
space for local, up and coming artists.
The Trace Gallery is a gallery dedicated
to time-based art with interactive, sonic,
and performance-based elements. Curated by
the world-renowned artist Andre Stitt, it
regularly houses month-long shows by international
artists as well as one-off live presentations.
The Butetown History and Arts Centre is
an innovative scheme involving professional
artists and researchers in collaboration
with local people in order to collect and
preserve the old photographs and oral histories
of the people of Cardiff and present them
in the form of exhibitions and courses.
The Martin Tinney Gallery is a private,
commercial art gallery dedicated to exhibiting
and selling artworks by some of the best
Welsh and Wales-based artists.
The Castle Gallery is another commercial
gallery specialising in exhibiting and selling
high-quality prints of landscape, figurative
