Exercising in a Hotel Room
Travelling can often disrupt your exercise schedule; however, there are things you can do to make sure that you are still able to work out even while staying in a hotel. Since most hotels these days offer gym and sports facilities for their guests, then you do not need to worry too much about sticking to your workout routine. However, if you should happen to stay in a hotel that does not have a gym, you can still do some exercises in your hotel room.
For example, you can get a straight-backed chair and then place it against the closed door of your room. Make sure that it is positioned securely so that it cannot be moved. Then take your mobile phone and use its alarm clock feature to set an alarm for five minutes. Face the chair and step up on the seat with both of your feet then step down again. Do this until your five minutes are up or until you have broken out into a sweat.
Reset the alarm for another five minutes, then take a book and hold it in both of your hands while facing a mirror. Do some combination lunges by stepping with one foot forward, bending your knee, and lifting the book over your head until your arms are stretched out to the fullest. Then take a step back and lower the book until it is directly in front of your chest. Make sure that both of your arms are very straight. Repeat the movements and make certain that your knees are able to track over your ankles while you are doing this exercise. Keep your lower abdominals drawn inwards so that you can safeguard your lower back as well as you knees.
There are other simple exercises you can do using the stuff that you can find within your hotel room. Just remember to be creative in your use of alternative exercise tools. You can also ask the front desk personnel regarding any sports and gym facilities that may be located nearby so that you can still enjoy a good workout.
